Cable Clutter

Cable Clutter

Even though I managed to create at least double the amount of usable space on my desk to stretch out notes, outlines and practices questions, there's still a lot used up by all of the computer clutter. And this is only for the one computer I actually use-- the 3 retired (and semi-retired) computers have their own sets of mess.

Admittedly, the guitar capo isn't computer clutter per se, but it fits with the theme.

Below the desk looks even worse!

Oh, I think I have you beat. Two desktops, router, wireless setup, external hard drive, scanner, printer, sound system... oh and there's more cables on the other side of the desk that aren't visible here:

I got one of those spring-loaded curtain rods and a valance from Target and things a little bit:

That's an impressive tangle of wires there. The second desktop computer certainly adds to the clutter. But I'm certainly in the same order of magnitude of computer miscellany. Laptop, desktop (not in regular use since 2002, but still useful for Civ II), monitor (both for the desktop and for more screen real estate with the powerbook), printer, speakers (with subwoofer and extra cable tangles), external hard drive, cable modem, wireless router. The [music] keyboard (Roland E) and audio/midi interface are off the desk but plugged into the mass of cables below.
